More than technical, but soul a writer. Dick's daughter died December 9, 2011 at age 46 from complications of MS. We had spent vigil at her bedside for a month focusing on making her as comfortable as possible. When it was over, we were faced with the loss, the sadness, the wishes for things that went unsaid, or shouldn't have been said, and our own mortality. I had the same reaction--sleeplessness and a barrage of disparate thoughts from the diaspora of my life, the life of others, the condition of the world, training issues of my dog, a recipe I should try..... My thoughts on afterlife remain firmly unchanged: "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16. The question is how much connection do we still have with the deceased? What is afterlife like? What is dying like? Meanwhile, I think I will try that new recipe, clean out the junk drawer in the kitchen, and then I will go back to bed! You are indeed a writer! More than technical, but soul a writer. It seems some of the people who were in favor of drawing Mohammed are against burning the Quran. Is one OK because it comes from South Park and the other is a crazed minister? But, this nation has a responsibility to make it known that we're not like that, that we aren't all lemmings who have lost our ability for critical thinking. People should stand up for what they believe in, whatever that may be... and people should be allowed to stand up for what they believe in.
