Submitted to the Magazine of Science Fiction and Fantasy

Friday I mailed off a submission to the Magazine of Science Fiction and Fantasy. The story reads somewhat like an episode of the Twilight Zone. The main character is a scientist who has bitten off more than he can chew.

It might sound like a fairly common trope but I felt like some of the issues the protagonist deals with – despair, failure, the uncontrollable need for vindication and acceptance from his peers – are issues to which many of us can relate.

Watching the story unfold as these issues come out, I feel like I’ve done a decent job of spinning and entertaining yarn. Time will tell, however, and 6-8 weeks from now I will know whether the fine folks at F&SF magazine think their readers will enjoy my new story.

Here’s to hoping!
