I'm actually waiting to see if Apple's tablet will have a compelling enough eReader on it to convince me to go through them to get/read books. While it sounds great, I'm just worried about attaching more of my life to the iTunes app and iTunes store.

Yeah, that was my experience. I found the Nook slow, confusing, difficult to use, and definitely not pleasant enough for me to spend time on it reading books.

Not sure if you got a Kindle already. It is definitely much better than a nook. Before Christmas I was planning to get a nook to because it looked way cooler than Kindle. then I tried one of them at a local B&N store and I was disappointed. I have used lot of devices and I can normally figure out "how to use" devices pretty quick. But using a Nook was just hard. I was dumbfounded. And there is no indication whether it is doing something. Even browsing thru the menus was hard. So I bought a Kindle. It is actually very good. The reading experience which should be the main focus of these devices, is very good. It is simple to use (some might say even primitive) and I have already read two books(Your inner fish and The golden Compass). I would definitely recommend the Kindle.
